Recently I took my car for an oil change at Mr. Lube, and was schooled in car maintenance.

The good thing about Mr. Lube is that they do the oil change fast enough that you get to stay in your car. The better part of it is that they check all the other vital parts to maintain, and you can decide what to do about it. The mechanic servicing my car invited me to step out and take a look, with him, under the hood. Filters and fuel intake were visibly long overdue for some professional attention; none of that was checked at the other service shops, previously used. Though if you don't particularly care what your car is made out of, there are complementary coffee (actually good coffee) and newspaper (I'm not sure about this one though) to entertain oneself with.

What I loved about Mr. Lube, and what will keep me coming back, is the attention to all the little details. Tire pressure and most of fluids (there's more than just windshield washing fluid!) are checked and filled up for free. You get to keep a printout of your car's state, service history, and suggestions for what other work might needs to be done, even if Mr. Lube wouldn't be the one doing it.
